Doc Holliday's has been serving the Albuquerque area for over fifty years, providing fair prices and quality items to the discerning shopper along with those services most have come to expect from a pawn shop, such as loans and purchasing. Opened by Gene Mays in the 1950's, it was originally located at Fourth and Mountain. In a time when Route 66 was the cruising destination of the nation, and the economic uncertainty of the Great Depression had not yet been forgotten, Mays saw a need within his community and sought to meet it with Doc Holliday's Hock Shop.
As the years went by, Doc Holliday's underwent several changes, seeing multiple locations around the city of Albuquerque. Wally West, Mays' son-in-law, came into the business around 1972, operating the second Doc Holliday's location. In 1983, Wally's son Mark West took ownership of the business, and brought everything back to a single location. Since then, the store's name officially changed to Doc Holliday's Pawn Shop, LLC in 2012; and is now located at 1400 Juan Tabo NE.
Turquoise and silver have always been a big part of Doc Holliday's history, and they only deal in high quality items procured fairly and honestly. Doc Holliday's also specializes in high quality firearms, jewelry, gold and diamonds.
What sets Doc Holliday's apart from the rest is the atmosphere of decency, fairness, and a willingness to answer any and all questions with honesty and integrity. While Doc Holliday's does make loans on collateral, their in stock merchandise rivals that of many competitors. Moreover, the staff at Doc Holliday's are always willing to give the most fair price around.
